Update on COVID-19 and the Florida Lineman Competition

The Florida Municipal Electric Association is closely monitoring the evolving situation regarding COVID-19. We are committed to the health and safety of our staff, membership and the public at large.

At this time, FMEA has neither issued travel restrictions nor canceled the Florida Lineman Competition that is scheduled for this weekend in Tallahassee.

However, we are taking many precautions with the Competition to ensure the health and safety of everyone in attendance, including having hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer throughout the field. In addition, and out of an abundance of caution, we are making arrangements to move both the Friday evening reception, and the Saturday evening awards banquet to an open space outdoors. All events will still be held at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum.

That being said, we understand actions taken by our members (including travel bans) and will accommodate them as necessary.
