KUA Headquarters Renamed in Honor of Jim Welsh
The Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors voted unanimously at its March 6 meeting to rename the utility’s administration building in honor of president and general manager Jim Welsh, who retires on March 31.
The facility, now known as the James C. Welsh Administration Building, honors Welsh’s “36 years of exemplary service, strong leadership, and unwavering commitment to the utility and the greater community,” as stated in a retirement proclamation and on new building signage.
The board also used the proclamation to announce the creation of a $2,500 per year college scholarship for Osceola County students seeking a degree in electrical engineering. The scholarship will be administered by the Education Foundation of Osceola County.
