Orlando Alancastro Named Vice President of Transmission

OUC logoOrlando Alancastro has been selected as Vice President of Transmission for the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC—The Reliable One), overseeing the planning, engineering, operations, and maintenance of OUC’s electric transmission and substations.

Alancastro joined OUC in 2002 as an electrical engineer and has held leadership roles in distribution, system operations, and project management. In 2020 he left OUC to assume the role of Vice President of Project Management at Power Grid Engineering. He returned to OUC in 2022 as Director of Energy Services and Contract Management.

An industry leader committed to innovation and reliability, Alancastro serves on several community boards including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, CareerSource of Central Florida Board, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and Electrical Council of Florida-Central Chapter, as well as the regional board for Prospera. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
