FMEA Releases Monthly Electric Bill Comparison for August 2020
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for August 2020 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $13.62 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, Tampa Electric Company reported the lowest bills in eight categories, the City of Mount Dora in six and Lakeland Electric in one.
For residential bills, out of three categories, Tampa Electric Company reported the lowest bills in all three.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, Tampa Electric Company reported the lowest bills in four categories, the City of Mount Dora in three and Lakeland Electric in one.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in three categories and Tampa Electric Company reported the lowest in one.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
