FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for February 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for February 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $12.51 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora had the lowest bills in nine categories; while the City of Wauchula and the City of Tallahassee in two categories each. The City of Bushnell and Tampa Electric Company each reported the lowest bills in one category.
For residential bill categories, out of three categories; the City of Wauchula reported the lowest bills in two categories and the City of Bushnell in one.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bill in five categories. The City of Tallahassee reported the lowest rates in two and Tampa Electric Company reported the lowest bills in one category.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in all four categories.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
