Two JEA Leaders Promoted to New Roles
JEA has promoted two executives to newly created roles to help advance the utility’s goals and objectives, and to further ensure strategic alignment across the organization.
Kurt Wilson, formerly vice president of government and community relations, takes on the role of chief of staff. In this position, Wilson will advance key initiatives and operations for the CEO and support JEA’s leadership team, the Office of General Counsel and the board of directors. Wilson also will further establish strategic working relationships with community partners, government officials and regional agencies.
Wilson served as JEA’s head of government and community relations for the past four years. Previously, he served 25 years with Jacksonville Fire & Rescue, retiring as the fire chief. Wilson began his new role on May 6.
JEA also named Joe Orfano deputy Chief Financial Officer. He will be responsible for supporting the chief financial officer in managing JEA finances and ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and effectively. Orfano will be the primary JEA liaison to the financial community, including bond investors, banking partners and credit rating agencies.
Orfano joined JEA in December 2013, and has served as treasurer, interim chief financial officer, and vice president of financial services. He began his new role May 6.
