FMEA Releases Monthly Electric Bill Comparison for February 2021
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for February 2021 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $7.18 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in ten categories, the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach in four categories and the City of Tallahassee in one category.
For residential bills, out of three categories, the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach reported the lowest bills in all categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in six categories and the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach and City of Tallahassee in one each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in all categories.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
