FMEA Releases Monthly Electric Bill Comparison for April 2021
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for April 2021 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $13.25 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in nine categories, the City of Williston in four categories, and the Utilities Commission, City of New Smyrna Beach in two categories.
For residential bills, out of three categories, the City of Williston reported the lowest bills in all categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in five categories, Utilities Commission,
City of New Smyrna Beach in two categories, and the City of Williston in one.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in all four categories.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
