FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison Report for June 2023
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for June 2023 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are among the lowest in the state, coming in at an average of $32.90 lower than the average bills of other utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Winter Park Electric Utility reported the lowest bills in ten categories, the City of Bartow in three categories, and the City of Tallahassee and City of Williston in one category each.
For residential bills, out of three categories, the City of Bartow reported the lowest rates in all three categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, the City of Winter Park Electric Utility reported the lowest bills in six categories, while the City of Tallahassee and City of Williston reported lowest bills in one category each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Winter Park Electric Utility reported the lowest bills in all four categories.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of six percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
