FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison Report for June 2022
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for June 2022 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $4.66 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in eight categories, the City of Mount Dora in five categories and New Smyrna Beach Utilities in two categories.
For residential bills, out of three categories, New Smyrna Beach Utilities reported the lowest rates in two categories and Lakeland Electric reported the lowest in one category.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in six categories and the City of Mount Dora in two categories.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in three categories and Lakeland Electric in one category.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of six percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
