FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison Report for April 2023
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for April 2023 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are among the lowest in the state, coming in at an average of $29.72 lower than the average bills of other utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Winter Park Electric Utility reported the lowest bills in six categories, the City of Williston in five categories, and the City of Quincy in four categories.
For residential bills, out of three categories, the City of Williston reported the lowest rates in all three categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, the City of Winter Park Electric Utility reported the lowest bills in four categories, while the City of Quincy and the City Williston reported lowest bills in two categories each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Quincy and the City of Winter Park Electric Utility reported the lowest bills in all two categories each.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of six percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
