FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for September 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for September 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $16.89 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in five categories; while Lakeland Electric reported the lowest in four, the City of Bartow in three, the City of Tallahassee two and the City of Quincy in one, respectively.
For residential bills, out of three categories; the City of Bartow reported the lowest bills in all categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; Lakeland Electric reported the lowest in four categories and the City of Tallahassee and the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest in two categories each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in three categories and the City of Quincy in one.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
