FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for October 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for October 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $15.37 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; Beaches Energy Services reported the lowest bills in seven categories. The City of Newberry reported the lowest bills in six categories and the City of Mount Dora in two.
For residential bills, out of three categories; Beaches Energy Services reported the lowest bills in all three.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; Beaches Energy Services reported the lowest bills in four categories. The City of Mount Dora and the City of Newberry reported the lowest bills in two categories each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the City of Newberry reported the lowest bills in all four.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
