FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for November 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for November 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $16.57 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in eleven categories. Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in two categories.
For residential bills, out of three categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in all three categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in five categories and Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in three.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in three categories and Lakeland Electric in one.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
