FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for November 2018
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for November 2018 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $13.22 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora had the lowest bills in nine categories, the Town of Havana reported the lowest four and the City of Tallahassee in two.
For residential bill categories, out of three categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in all three categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bill in five categories, the City of Tallahassee reported the lowest rates in two and the Town of Havana in one.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in all four categories.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
