FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for March 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for March 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $14.64 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; Beaches Energy Services reported the lowest bills in seven categories; while the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in five categories and the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest in three.
For residential bill categories, out of three categories; Beaches Energy Services reported the lowest bills in all three.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; Beaches Energy Services reported the lowest bill in four categories. The Town of Havana and the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in two categories each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in three categories and the City of Mount Dora in one.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
