FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for December 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for December 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $17.52 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in nine categories. Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in four categories and the City of Starke and Homestead Public Services in one each.
For residential bills, out of three categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in two categories and the City of Starke in one.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in four categories and Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in three and Homestead Public Services in one.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the Town of Havana reported the lowest bills in three categories and Lakeland Electric in one.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
