FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison for April 2019
FMEA’s Bill Comparison for April 2019 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $12.91 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; Lakeland Electric and the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in five categories each; while the City of Tallahassee and the City of Wauchula reported the lowest bills in two categories each. The City of Bartow reported the lowest in one category.
For residential bill categories, out of three categories; the City of Wauchula reported the lowest bills in two categories and the City of Bartow in one.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories; Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bill in four categories. The City of Tallahassee and the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in two categories each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in three categories and Lakeland Electric in one.
The FMEA Bill comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
