FMEA Releases Annual Florida Electric Bill Comparison for 2020
Florida public power utilities provided the lowest rates in all 15 reported categories, including residential, commercial and industrial customers, on average for the year 2020.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in eight categories, Lakeland Electric in six categories and the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach in one category.
For residential bills, out of three categories, Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in all categories.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in four categories, Lakeland Electric in three categories and the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna in one.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in all categories.
The FMEA Florida Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
